This is another illustration from my in progress novel "Wolf Boy", written by me and illustrated by Russell Tuller. Farewells are almost always difficult because for a farewell to occur a connection had to first be made.
Story Excerpt:
"My mom was waiting for me at the door, and her smile was radiant. I don't think she could have been any more proud of me if she tried.
“Nylca, are you ready to go?”
“Yes mom. I've got everything that I think I'll need.”
My mom gave me another hug and fought to keep tears from spilling out, making her smile even bigger to try and compensate. I gave the biggest hug I could muster without hurting her and then let go.
“I love you Nylca.”, she spoke with a shaky voice.
“I love you too mom.”, I replied and felt tears building in my eyes too. "
