I did this over a year ago and never got to posting it. I has planned to use this as cover art but its ancient
visual description: in a filthy back ally surrounded by dirty garbage cans and bags 3 foals lay on the ground. a surprisingly clean blue pegasus filly of about 12 years old white white hooves ears and appaloosa markings lays on the viewers left her from left hoof crossed over her front right one, her short dark blue mane long in the front falls over her green eyes that look across from her at a colt about her age, he is covered in so much dirt and blood cuts and bruises, that its hard to tell for sure if his red grey color and darker brown legs are his natural colors or dirt, he has dark circles under his eyes, that may or may not be markings and a light patch on his muzzle short black mane falling over his eyes which look down, he nearly mimics the fillies pose except his left forehoof is around a small black and white pinto unicorn foal with redish mane who looks up at him with her green eyes. the only cutiemark visable is the colts, a rotten apple core

A most emotional piece, Saphy. It makes me think the following...
The three ponies had lost their sanctuary in the abandoned warehouse downtown. It had been a safe haven to them free from the elements. They were even able to make their own 'rooms' through scraps of cardboard, wood, and fabric they discovered during their foraging adventures.
Then they came. The 'Brass Hoof' gang decided to add the warehouse to their territory.
The ponies tried to reason with the gang. They tried to even offer to 'share the space'. However their leader required they'd either join the gang or be beaten out of it.
The youngsters were smart enough to know being in a gang was bad news. Brass Hoof had a very bad reputation along with the 'Iron Spur' and 'Feral Stallions'. Wherever they went bad things happened.
However the colt couldn't lose their home. The home they had felt safe in for months.
Sadly, he wasn't enough. They laughed him off after making sure they 'made an example' of him.
Now the trio are truly homeless. The streets had never been safe. However they would find a new home. Then, if anyone dared come try and take it away again, they'd be ready to defend it. They didn't like violence but they didn't like not having a home more and they were going to find a 'home' again.
