Sometimes Game Freak and Nintendo do things that make no godforsaken sense with their shinies. I figured I'd run through lineages and give my take on how I'd improve shinies, if I had the power to.

Squirtle's a pokemon who has a shell pattern based on old japanese coins -- it's part of why it's called Zenigame in Japan. The theme for this little series of shiny recolors is valuable coins and metal, which is why we go from a softer mind to increasingly more golden/silver shells.
