Perfect Poke-Potions
Matt swung the weirdly shaped bottle a little bit, examining the blue and slightly glowing potion inside. He still had a bit of a reservation about it, but hey, he had already payed for it now, so he would make good use of it while it lasted.
The young man had been training more and more with his pendant in the last few months, especially its ability to let him travel in between different worlds. And while several times his attempts had failed, this time he had come across a very dimensional plane, a world that was a sort of interdimensional cross-way, where people of all kinds, colours, species and from various worlds by various means, either magic or technology, were meeting and crossing paths.
He had strolled around the place, that reminded him of a gigantic market place in the middle of an endless forest, looking at the things the various merchants had to offer. Not surprisingly he saw very little humans, most of the people he saw where non-human in shape. Some from old myths that existed on Earth, some from places of existences that were totally alien to him. And then again he was surprised to see that creatures from fictional stories, movies and books could be found here as well.
That was proven to him when his path was suddenly crossed by a group Pokemon anthros, who were also just passing through this place, looking for something to buy for their travels. By now Matt really wished he had taken his camera with him. Unlike other worlds he had been to, this world at least supported the existence of high-tech. So for now his ability to record things here were reduced to his not too decent phone-camera.
A little big longer strolling around and Matt came across a small merchant stall, that luckily enough presented its products in a language he could read and understand. (Many others did not, how can the many different species and people even communicate properly here?) What surprised Matt more was the fact that several people that had just bought some of the things offered here were in various stages of....transforming into a Pokemon?
Matt got a bit closer, watching the merchant behind the counter, a anthro Pokemon, yet he could not recall what kind of Pokemon this person was, as he had stopped playing the various games a long time ago and was not up-to-date with the more recent Pokemon generations.
Matt asked a few questions, what kind of potions he sold, how long they lasted, their prices, etc. The pink ape-like pokemon man was happy to explain it to the young man, after all it was not often that he could sell his goods to a human.
Aparently those potions were one of the longer lasting kind, though not permanent. And even if they were, the simian like Pokemon remarked with a glance on Matt's pendant, he could always use that one to change back. To which Matt replied that he surely could do that, as transforming back was easier that transforming into something entirely new. After all, he still was pretty much training himself how to properly use the pendant. Though if he finally did manage to transform into something new, he could change into this form more easily.
The monkey-Pokemon nodded. It made sense to him, after all knowing how a certain form felt made it easier to bring out said form again. Then to Matt's surprise he would offer the human a special offer. He could choose one of his remaining Pokemon-potion stocks, for half the normal price, so he can transform into a new form easily without having to use his pendant. Thus he can get to know a new form, which he then could more easily bring out again via his pendant.
But he would not reveal what kind of Pokemon he would turn into. But the shape of the potion-bottle, he noted, was giving one some clues what the end result would be.
Matt happily agreed to that offer, before he let his eyes wander over the shelves. The potions were stored in bottles of pretty much every shape and colour. Twisted like snakes, spiked, with feathers, and so forth.
In the end he chose a blue U-shaped bottle with what looked like scales on top of it, while the top was adorned with red metal spikes. Matt and the Pokemon merchant exchanged a few gold coins (Ever since Matt had started traveling to other worlds, he had a few gold-coins with him at all times, as he found out pretty fast that they were a universally accepted currency), before he looked for a more secluded area.
He uncorked the bottle and sniffed the blue glowing liquid. To his surprise it had barely any scent, only a somewhat dark undertone with a hint of plums. A not too unpleasant scent.
Without thinking too much, Matt quickly gulped down most of the potion, the cool liquid settling in his guts, where it went to work immediately.
Unlike the magic energies of his pendant, that slowly washed through him like an immaterial wave, the potion first started with his insides first, starting with his belly. He could feel whatever was changing him quickly enter his blood-stream and from there go to all ends of his body. It was a pleasant warmth moving through his veins transforming him from the inside out.
When he noticed a quick build up of pressure at his rear, he was quick to pull down his pants at that spot to free his growing tail there. The blue appendage quickly grew in length, and soon Matt felt more and more of the all to familiar weight of a reptilian tail on his back.
In his eagerness to try out the potion he, once again, had been too slow to shed his clothes, and now his shifting body was making him pay for that, by slowly shredding his jeans and sweater. The big sturdy thighs opening the seams of his trousers, while a row of red pointy spikes grew from his spine and on the top of his head.
He grinned, showing already a grow of ever growing pointy fangs pushing his lips apart.
“Feraligator! Fera!” Matt hissed out in bliss as the change progressed faster and faster, the scales and leathery hide covering more and more of his body while his stance and entire frame kept changing bit by bit.
Only then did Matt halt in his thoughts briefly. Why had he just said that? Was the potion so perfect that now he could only say his Pokemon name? If that was the case, he would have a daaaaamn hard time communicating with anyone. But the others that have transformed before him seemed to have no problem, as he looked from his hiding spot, seeing a few of them packing away their clothes and walked off, chit-chatting with one another. Seems like it was just a slip of his ever growing tongue inside his elongating muzzle.
Matt quickly got the rest of his clothes of his still changing body, grunting and growling the more he changed. At least his frame was still somewhat anthropomorphic enough for his arms to grab his things properly enough.
And he also just noticed that now as a non-human he could intermingle with the visitors of the market here even better. Seems his first purchase was truly a perfect choice. He definitely had to come back to this place.
