And now for he piece de resistance from this most recent upload spree. This is a picture of one of our rescue kittens, namely the runt of the litter, sleeping in the chest pocket of my shirt. Unfortunately, this little one and his brother died in the end, due to being seperated from their mother at such a young age (they were abandoned in a storm at 2 days old). In fact, this one died less than an hour after this picture was taken.
According to the vet, they would have died anyways, no matter what we did, but we took solace in the fact that at least we let it die where it was warm and safe, fed and bathed and petted; we made its few days of life the most comfortable it could have hoped for, instead of dying cold and alone shivering in a storm.
On a happier note, their sister is doing great, she's eating and walking and meowing, and her eyes are starting to open. She's getting bigger by the da, and stronger. SHe's a little pear shaped ball of fuzz, but she's certainly affectionate to say the least. We named her Comet because her white stomach and brown back makes her look like a dirty snowball, by the way. I had tentatively named the runt "Taylor", after a guy I've fallen for recently, and the other brother Archie, but they died before the family agreed on the name. They're both buried in the garden in our back yard, and each of them has a special plot of flowers that aren't planted anywhere else in the garden to mark their graves.
