Actually, one of the few times you'll see em sitting still. I think they're about my favorite bug and not just because they eat skeeters. Oh those eyes! I did so want to get some good pics of em this summer but well, no dice. I found two perfect specimens on the road but well, that was the day the camera died. *sigh* Dragonflies... their eyes loose their color and irridescence when they die. How poignant.

I am not sure what happened to the one that did get in my tent and could not figure out how to get out of a huge ass open door (i almost never close my door at pennisc) but i was thinking of making them into jewelry because i love thier eyes so. and well them. we get huge ones down here. i also got the joy of raising a larval dragon fly this year and fed it on Guppies! I was very happy. and it seemed when i was empting the ponds when fall came that i had damsel fly and dragon fly larvae in them but my fish ate them as they got stired up. i will be more careful next year.
