Not how it works.
I need to forget everything that I feel.
Ignore that the emotions I have are real.
But that is not how a heart works.
I want to forget that you even exist,
Want to get out of that “like with a twist”
But that is not how a heart works.
I need to stop the love like waves on the shores,
If I’m nobody’s type, why would I be yours?
But that’s not how a heart works.
Can I be brave and tell you, be firm?
No, for eternity my feelings will squirm.
Because that’s how my heart works…
I need to forget everything that I feel.
Ignore that the emotions I have are real.
But that is not how a heart works.
I want to forget that you even exist,
Want to get out of that “like with a twist”
But that is not how a heart works.
I need to stop the love like waves on the shores,
If I’m nobody’s type, why would I be yours?
But that’s not how a heart works.
Can I be brave and tell you, be firm?
No, for eternity my feelings will squirm.
Because that’s how my heart works…
