Oliver (Little boy) and Cinnamon Belle (Little girl) are Scottish fold mix kitties that I adopted from the SPCA. They are special needs kitties who have Osteochondrodysplasia which is a crippling disorder in the legs and paws. They will have this problem the rest of their lives but they are in a loving home now where I will care for all of their needs.
Oliver: (Named Dip at the shelter) Loud, noisy, a crippled little gimp. He loves to announce himself and trumpet around the house. He is an all around lap cat and will demand and pout until he gets to sit in your lap which he will stay for as long as you are sitting. He loves food, he sees food he will eat it, even if that means fruits and veggies. He seems to really favor apricots, either that or he’s so happy to have treats he inhales it before knowing what it is  He has the face of a bull terrier, he doesn’t really look like a cat and his paws are too big for him, quite out of proportion which makes him even more dorky and adorable. Sadly however this is due to his disability and his paws are quite crippled =(.
Cinnamon Belle: (named Dot at the shelter) Sweet, loving, loves to announce her self in the morning and jump into bed to cuddle your hair and head. Gentle to humans, she rough houses with her brother until he’s so wound up he can’t walk. Poor cats don’t know what’s good for them  But they both love each other and love to play rough despite their disabilities. Little girl isn’t nearly as crippled as her brother, she seems to get along just fine most of the time. She is somewhat of a lap cat, but is nervous bout being picked up. She is dainty, and will drink water with her paw. Such a sweetie.
I went into the SPCA to ask about further information about helping feral cat colonies and saw these two together. They were being over looked by people who came in to adopt cats because of their disabilities. They are only a few months old, but have spent nearly all of their lives in the shelter because of their disabilities. Even as young kittens, all of the other normal kittens were adopted while these two waited hoping that someone would take them home or just want to play with them.
Many people came in and played with the other kittens and cats, but when they read the paperwork on these two that they have disabilities, they were overlooked, and weren't even touched. It broke my heart and I cried. I was at the SPCA for hours my heart went out to these two and they came home with me I couldn‘t leave them. I love them dearly and feel blessed that I get to care for these two little darlings. I am the one who is lucky. They bring me so much joy and love and get along so well with my other kitties.
They are a handful with their disablities but I made the right choice, even if they don't live as long as other cats, or suffer worse with their disabilities I wont give up on them. They deserve a fair chance just like any other normal cat. They just need a little extra help and love that's all
