Ahhhh I hate to be THAT GUY but *puts on bird nerd hat* Australian magpies aren't corvids; they belong to a family called Artamidae (as opposed to Corvidae), which resembles shrikes a lot more than corvids, but also still isn't related to shrikes at all X'D They're their own weird ass thing. They're more closely related to woodwallows and currawongs despite having the magpie name
