Yeaaaah… The décor was more appropriate in the Underground air raid shelters of London during the Blitz. I've also seen fake Subway stop signs like "Piccadilly Circus" and "Waterloo" over at Hobby Lobby too. -Just the thing for those who want to decorate their apartments with that "Wartime Tube" Aesthetic.

Watched an English 'Antiques Roadshow' (yes I watch the Beeb now and then) and a woman came in with something like thirty of the original placards. The Appraiser admitted that she most likely had the only original placards still in existence. Her husband worked at a post station in Scotland and they were throwing them out.

Oh the image that popped up in my head when I read your comment. On a similar note, my Hispanic Aunts all seemed to feel that I was way too skinny as a child, and did their best to feed me and my siblings when ever we'd visit. So why not a Garetta Great Auntie?

Yeah. Jar Jar is one of the reasons I stopped writing the Garetta dialog in "Pidgin English" and I still need to come up with something different. I was writing about the Garetta in the early 1990s, and I believe one of the writers at Lucasfilm cribbed my notes.

Well I wasn't hearing it in Jar-Jar's voice until the comment.

OH! I'm glad I checked in. Yes! The Yinglets from Valsalia's "Out of Placers" weird Science fictiony on line comic. Those are a Lot of fun to read. I'm seriously thinking of changing Garetta-talk now.

I don't actually go back far enough with your stuff to really be very familiar with the Garetta, but I like the happy message, and I think it would be great to see real street-sign versions of this sign posted around randomly to puzzle people.

It actually made me think of Hawaiian pidgin.

Odd you should mention Hawaii. The "Pidgin" English the Foxtaur Garetta speak is very similar to that used by the Natives of the South Pacific Islands. My idea was that the creatures did learn several Human languages while they were living on the Colony Ship, and they "Borrowed" words that they felt fit better, and were easier to pronounce. So yeah. "No make da Crazy" is their way of saying "Don't Panic."
