Worked a stint as a makeup assistant for a special effects company, that doesn't exist anymore. "Make up and Magic inc" We field tested stuff when we were running low. And since we did "live action" (ie theater in the open) we had to test stuff on the fly. And since I was an intern. I was the guinea pig
Spirit gum, thankfully is a mild astringent. Worst it does is sting and cause a slight break out. It doesn't work the best with the poster putty, as that's meant for holding things tightly and NOT come undone. Typical stage glue? Not a problem, just red, where the glue sat. You can always tell who's worn a mask though. Tribal looking lines running around the face
Oh the make up and props were a blast! I loved it. Specially when the props were interactive (Nothing lets the lead actor know how much you "appreciate them" Like a good old fashioned *THUMP* of a rubber giant's hand to let Jack know. Just wasn't a fan of the on the fly testing cause...yeah, that usually stung
