Many many thanks, Bigsqueezer buddy!! I really enjoyed setting this one up, and just playing with how the shadows worked. A hint of dark purple moonlight from above, with the roaring campfire from the background; you typed it yourself: the muscle and tension are exactly what I was trying to convey with the lighting, and I'm delighted to hear it came out the way I wanted folks to feel!
Well, 'fraid there's only so much I can do there, buddy! I took a lot of time to work on this issue ever since a friend of mine constantly told me my images were too dark. I ended up doing a poll on Twitter, linked to it from here in Furaffinity, to see what screen brightness the average viewer had. Ever since, I always apply a macro to brighten my image slightly; my monitor and TV brightness is such that I can quickly test between viewing an image at 1:1 brightness/shadows, and seeing what the average view will see. I'm afraid that if this is still too dark for you, the issue might be on-going with other darkly-lit renders from here on, as any brighter and the majority of folks would start seeing a loss of contrast!
