Peter's pitch ax slashed at the ground, the tiny bit of rubble flying behind him, while he sweated bullets. He turned his head, watching his friends jabbing at the piles of rock, with only a tiny flashlight illuminating the underground cave. Peter was anxious, the treasure could be under their own feet, and they had the right tools to find the dang thing. The problem was how hard it was for Peter, considering he was skinny and didn't have much strength to dig in such a place like this. His hands often swell, hurt, or multiple of other reasons. Joe turned, laughing at his misfortune while whipping his face from exhaustion. "Peter, do you really have to be so weak all of the time?"
"It's not my fault..." Peter grumbled. "You've made me use the pickax the whole time! Even though you know I struggle with it!" Peter sighed as he fought on. "Heh, you're just lazy," Joe said. "Anyway, I'm taking a break. make sure you get something done while I go." "Ugh..." Peter groaned in pain, he swung his ax one more time, and suddenly there was a crash as dirt fell everywhere. Peter scrambled and got his gas mask on.
"Oh come on, why does it have to-" Peter hacked under the mask, getting a bit of dust into his mouth, while he held on to the mask. He looked around, noticing the light from the flashlight was dimmed from the dust fogging up its view, losing much light from the room, until Peter noticed a bright glow from where he was digging. "What the-" He hacked again, moving towards the hole, realizing the light was red, shining more brightly than the flashlight did, while the dust seemed to not bother its brightness. Peter leaned in close, peering down into the hole, and found the cause of the glow.
"Is this... a ruby?" He stared as he tried to pick it up with his fingers, only for it to not move at all. "Huh?" Peters' eyes widened even more as he brushed off some dirt, and he realized this was no ordinary ruby, it was HUMUNGOUS! He picked it up, it was 3 pointed, and was nearly the size of his own head! "What IS this thing?" He said as he turned it around. "Oh.. I just know Joe gonna claim HE found it.." Peter groaned clutching it to his chest. As soon as he did this, however, the ruby suddenly shone brighter, and his chest heaved, feeling like it was stuck to him. "What the?!" Peter said as the ruby attached to his body.
He felt the ruby stuck onto his chest, tearing his shirt open, allowing the ruby to fit against the fabric, while Peter tried his best to rip the ruby off of him. "How did this happen? Rubies don't just attach to people's bodies like-" He suddenly screamed, tearing his hands away from the ruby, as he watched his shirt dissolving off of him. He could feel the fabric reattaching onto his hands, forming into leather black gloves, while Peter gripped them beneath his palms. "Why did my shirt formed into gloves- Oh no, my pants too!" Peter cried, watching his pants ripping off of his legs, leaving behind his red boxers, while his sneakers began to grow bigger. The fabric hardened into metal, the rim of his shoes stretching outwards, its color changing from red to black and silver while growing straps harnessing his feet. "What... What happened to my clothes? And... Wait, did that used to be my pants?"
He starred as his clothes seemed to disappear... His skin started to turn black, and grow a thin layer of fur all over. "What's happening to me?!" He growled as his voice deepened, and he could feel claws growing on his hands "I'm... A monster!" He roared clutching his head. He groaned as his face stretched and pushed outwards, growing into a muzzle. You're not a monster, your perfection. A voice in his head said. "Huh?" Peter looked around, but the voice continued. You are more powerful then anyone could wish for, you are above all the puny mortals you know. Peter listened to the voice, as he felt his ears stretch and shift.
You are only a creature born of despair and hunger. The voice said, Peter's ears thickening, pointing upwards on top of his, while the layer of black and white fur covered his newly formed cat ears. He pulled onto his ears, trying to mask out the voice as best he could, not wanting this thing to change him, while he felt pain against his right eye, forming a white scar across his face, causing his green pupil to change colors to blue, and his left eye changed to yellow. "No... No, stop changing me! I don't want to- AGGHHH!" Peter yelled, feeling his eyes widened, taking over half of his face, while his hair lengthened from behind. Peter placed his clawed hands against his short brown hair, trying to prevent his hairline to flow, and spike into white strands of hair blowing from behind. "No, you- You can't do this! J-Joe, help me-" Why call to such a scum mortal like that so-called friend? Do you really want him to trash you, torment, and mock you for the rest of your life? Peter was quiet, allowing his tailbone to grow out, a fluffy black tail, with white fur casually shifting from behind.
Peter groaned as he felt his tail growing out, and his body finishes transforming. He panted heavily as he looked down at the ruby on his chest, feeling worn out. But suddenly the ruby began to glow, and Peter felt strength... His body suddenly didn't feel tired anymore... If anything he felt stronger! Peter stood up. You have more power than him. Might make right. So tell me, are you going to give into him and let yourself be treated like a punching bag your entire life? Or, are you going to DO something about it? The voice hissed seducingly. Peter stared off into space, then looked down at his gas mask.
Peter saw that the mask was different now. No longer did he see a nozzle sticking out of its mouth, and nor did it look like bug eyes. It was metal, its ears long as Peters, with ridges at the bottom, with its right lenses black, and its left red with yellow pupils. Peter could hear footsteps from the distance, coming his way, while he realized how much of a jerk Joe really was. He only hanged out with Joe just to fit in, pretended he had friends, or just tried to communicate with him. It wasn't until they realized this cavern had treasure that he... "That brat... He used me." Do you understand? I am your true friend, ally, and royalty. Or, should I say- "Me!"
He turned around and shot his arms out. Immediately the rocks and dirt that had blocked his path blasted out of the mine. Joe was standing outside when it suddenly felt like a cannon shot at him! "YOU!" A deep, and angry voice said. "What the?" Joe stared at him. "Who are you?!" "I am the pain that you've brought upon me my entire life!" He glared. "I am the suffering and the neverending torment! I AM INFINITE! And YOU are SCUM!" He shot forward faster then Joe could blink and punched him hard in the chest sending him flying back. But as Joe flew through the air, Infinite shot around him and hit him again.
Joe flung into the wall, slamming his body on top of the solid piles of rock, and causing him to scream in agony. Infinite smirked, watching Joe squirm beneath him, while he didn't even give a crap. If he had no trouble making fun of him before, then why should he care for the man, especially when he no longer was useful? Of course, now that Infinite was stronger, better, and perfect in every single way, except for one small thing... He bent over, picking up the mask, and placing it over his face. Infinite stared into Joe's eyes, his yellow pupils finding that fear Joe had sent him for such a long time and is now brought to the man as well. "So, who's weak now?"
"I.. I..." Joe gulped, Infinite glared harder. "SAY IT! who's weak NOW?!" He snarled. "Me!" He cried out sobbing in pain. "Good." Infinite sneered. "Now YOU know exactly how I felt all this time!" Infinite turned and flew off, leaving Joe behind in the dust. Infinite chuckled as he reached down and rubbed the ruby that clung to his chest. "I was right... this IS much better!" He grinned flying off to find everyone else, and teach them a lesson too.
"It's not my fault..." Peter grumbled. "You've made me use the pickax the whole time! Even though you know I struggle with it!" Peter sighed as he fought on. "Heh, you're just lazy," Joe said.
