Pip wasn't sure if he was in heaven or hell. What he did know is wherever he was, he wanted out of it. He was mummified in the tightest bindings imaginable, yet they afforded him all the flexibility he could want. He was trapped inside a sarcophagus, and surrounded by more of the rubber bandages that bound him, each of which seemed to have a mind of their own. Every tiny movement he made caused the bell collared around his neck to ring, and each time it rung out the bandages would do something different. Sometimes they would tickle him across his toes and ribs and every sensative spot they somehow instinctively knew he would react to, othertimes they would just squeeze him in just the right spot to make him moan. Still other times it felt like they were just going to tease him and edge him to the brink of pleasure for eternity and never let him have rest.
All this they would do whenever the bell rung, as if he was summoning a servant. He hadn't eaten, nor drank, nor needed to go to the restroom. Pip also hadn't felt he needed those things, and so only surmised it was some work of magic that he didn't. He hadn't seen sunlight, nor light of any kind locked in his eternal darkness. Just him and the wrappings. He also wasn't sure when he'd last slept, because every time Pip began to nod off the bell would ring from his slump.
There seemed to be no escape from this, and though his many years of thievery had sharpened his mind, even Pip's quick wit was due to give out sooner or later. If only he hadn't come there in search of glory and treasure, if only Pip hadn't allowed himself to be suckered into this farce of a job. For what felt like the millionth time Pip broke down into tears, which again rang the bell. This time it was tickling, so his tears turned to tears of laughter, and Pip was powerless to stop them.
When suddenly...
*FOOOOOM*- Something loud and quaking rocked everything in the chamber Pip was trapped in, including the sarcophagus he was inside. It shivered and shook and with a hard push prompted from Pip tipped over and crashed onto the floor. *Ka-thud!* Pip slowly roused to consciousness... 'Light?' he thought he saw, as through a crack Pip saw the promise of illumination. The bat thrust his head against the lid of his tomb and it slid open. Even as he did bandages awoke and tethered around him and the tinkling bell, but still he struggled on. "Hmmmph!" Sweat crossed the bat's brow as he made a slow deliberate climb out of his coffin. Even as more rubber bandages wound around him Pip pushed forward, and finally came slumping and laying outside his prison. He was exhausted, and heaved breaths through the tight constriction of his midsection. "Mmmm...hhmm?" Not only had Pip's coffin turned and fallen, but the whole chamber was in shambles. 'What happened in here? What was that explosion noise?' Pip thought to himself as the bell around his neck stopped jingling, and the bandages searching for him from his coffin paused and began to snake in the air. 'Oh well, no use thinking about it now. Whatever it was, it gave me my chance to escape.' Pip braced himself, and tensed his bound body. He shuffled as best he could forward, and then-
*THWAP* The fresh jingling of the bell collared around his neck brought the myriad bandages from the sarcophagus to life. "Mmmph!" They wrapped around Pip's legs and tugged. Meanwhile fresh tickling was taking place along the soles of his feet and ribs, and Pip writhed and gyrated on the floor. "Hhhaa hhhhmmmmpph." The bat thief suddenly stopped himself, using all his willpower to silence his body and the bell. The bandages stopped with him. Pip made the connection. 'Oh no...every time I move, the bell sounds the coffin to grab me, and the bandages do something to my body to make me move. But I -have- to escape." Careful to not ring his collar Pip kicked off the bandages around his legs as best he could, he did not want to be dragged back inside. "Hrmmm..."
The thief began to shuffle in the smallest movements possible. The bell would jingle only slightly, and only slightly would the coffin's trap reach out to grab him. Still though, it took every bit of willpower for Pip to not shudder at the selective massaging happening every so softly across his body. "Hnnnngggg..." Pip squeezed his eyes together and bit down hard on the wad of bandages in his mouth gagging him. "Hnnnggg..." But he shuffled on. 'I just have to get away from this coffin and then I'm-' Pip's train of thought was cut off when he suddenly looked forward. Before him and the stairs that lead up to his eventual freedom were dozens of overturned sarcophagi, all with loose lids and bandages snaking in the air looking for him. Then Pip looked to the stairs, and saw a dozen or so more sarcophagi which would, he was sure, be happy to snag him up in an instant.
'This,' The bat sucked in a big huff of air, 'is going to take a while.'
