I decided to post an entry to AtomicTiki on DeviantArt's obscure characters art jam. It's Devil from the Chocovaders toyline. It was one of those fads that was popular for, like, five minutes in Japan that never saw it's way to the rest of the world. They were hollow balls of chocolate similar to Wonder Balls, (Remember those!?) that had tiny toy aliens inside that were all based on actual real-world legends of alien sightings, like the Hopkinsville Goblin, and even one I'm pretty sure was based on E.T. There was even a Gameboy Advance game to go with the toys, but that never made it outside Japan either. The fact that Chocovaders' popularity was so short that it never got to become a worldwide franchise with a cartoon and a manga and merchandise to rival that of Pokemon will always be one of the most disappointing things ever to me, I honestly feel like myself and the rest of the world got kinda gypped out of something that could have been really special, I mean, just look at the character designs! https://www.bogleech.com/choco.html If those were around in America when I was a kid, I would have been all the hell over them. We're living in an era where pretty much everything is getting a reboot, I think Chocovaders could use one, those character designs are too good to just be part of a flash-in-the-pan fad, I think the Chocovaders actually deserve a lot better than what they got
