Last year, 
Yonaka_Yamako Began work on a piece that helped redefine the Fyrilan species to portray the original vision I had for these guys. Before that I hadn't found anyone who could really nail the visual I had in mind for what I could best describe as "hoof hands".
The concept seemed simple enough, at least when I first considered it, but until I sat down and discussed how I wanted these appendages to function I didn't have a functional idea to work with.
HELbite did some initial sketch work years ago when the Fyrialn species was first drafted and sketched, but the visuals didn't match what I had imagined and I couldn't think of a good way to describe to her how to better draw them, so we ultimately went with four hooves rather than the hand-hooves seen here.
A lot has changed since then, most notably the armored plates and pebbling on the male Fyrilans. I had always visualized them as being naturally more gaunt and bony than their female counterparts, but I eventually realized how to describe this properly as well.
So now we have the reference here of Tamp [Left] and Myrlla [right] drawn by
ArtsyAxolotl to update the youth visual reference, taking into account the past work by Tanks and Yona and bring these two kiddos of mine into the present. I'm super grateful for the work these magnificent artists have provided me over the years as well as their input along the way. While i'm nowhere near done, I am glad to feel like i'm one step closer to my own goals in having proper visual references for my characters and species.
