(A gift for my good buddy,
Yosh-E-O)
It was another day at Celestia’s Nursery, where Yosh and Spike were practicing their lessons, in this case, writing.
“Wowee! I wonder how Twilight and Dawnbreak write these so well?” Yosh asked, looking at his poor hand writing.
“Probably because of their magic.” Spike said, somewhat distracted by his own work.
“Do you think we’ll ever be as good as writing as they are?” Yosh asked.
“I dunno.” Spike said, still distracted.
Yosh looked over at Spike, wondering why he wasn’t very enthusiastic today.
“Spike?” Yosh asked.
“Yeah?” Spike asked.
“Are you okay?” Yosh asked.
“Yeah.” Spike said, struggling to draw a “G”.
Yosh thought that Spike was acting strange today. As Spike got up from his seat to look at his paper closer to the light, Yosh quietly sneaked up behind him. Yosh then turned around, angling his diapered up rear towards Spike’s, and then...
POOF!
“Gah!” Spike gasped as Yosh bumped his diapered rear against his, causing baby powder to shoot out of the Leg holes. Spike jumped forward, dropping his paper.
“What was that for?” He demanded.
“I just wanted to make sure you weren’t under mind control or something like that.” Yosh said, giggling.
“You sure your diaper doesn’t need changed?” Spike asked, brushing baby powder off his diaper.
“No, not yet at least.” Yosh replied.
“Well that’s some good news at least. Now, I just need to finish my-” Spike started, reaching for his paper on the floor.
*Riiippp!* *Floop*
Spike suddenly felt a breeze on his backside after bending over. Taking the paper on the floor, he glanced between his legs and saw his diaper there! Apparently, the tail tape popped undone when he bent over. Spike gasped as he pulled his tail between his legs and blushed.
“Wow, this is the first time you needed a diaper change before me.” Yosh pointed out.
(I really need to find an Art mentor. The more I look at my pictures, the more amateur I see.)
Visual description for Yosh:
Yosh and Spike, with their backs angled towards the camera, with their heads looking over their shoulders. Yosh is on the Left, Spike is on the right. Yosh is wearing only a gray disposable diaper with dark purple tape, Spike is only wearing a White disposable diaper with light blue tape, including a piece above the tail. Yosh has several feather tufts on his chest and tail in the white areas.
Yosh has a big smile on his beak and has both of his arms up in the air. Spike has a look of frightened surprise on his face with his mouth open. He holds his piece of paper in his left paw, it has the letters A, B, C, D, and E written perfectly while the F is missing the short line in the middle, followed by 2 D-like shapes and a swirl. Spike’s right arm is resting at his side.
A Partially transparent cloud of light pink baby powder hovers around the leg holes of the diapers, that are pressed up against each other, making them crinkle. The Background, meanwhile, is pink.

I think the picture along with the story is really cute.
You stated that you felt as if you were an amateur. Personally, I wouldn't say your an amateur, you just have a different drawing style.
I have never been good at art. Making sketches, coloring without a template, or almost anything art related is something I practically cannot do at all. I'd say that your pretty lucky to make art as well as you do.
If you really feel like you want to improve your work then maybe you could try to find a "template" or something to give you an idea on the shapes your trying to make or just to give you some inspiration.
Then again, what do I know. I'm an art noob

D'aww. *Crinklesnugs* What a sweet lil' story. It certainly adds to the adventures that Spike and Yosh had while being raised by Celestia while Twilight and Dawnbreak were finishing their studies.
I like the little 'surprise' part in the story. Seeing Yosh getting clever to snap his friend out of his funk over having trouble with his writing. It's certainly a great way for the two to bond as I'd definitely see Spike being the more serious of the two.
Definitely going to be saving this one. Thanks so much, Leon. You definitely have a great talent of blending art with writing.
As for your art I always thought it was great how it was as it was always distinctly yours. I always knew Leon work when I saw it. However there are lots of people you can talk to about getting tips on how to try and update your style.
When I used to do art I learned having certain 'start points' with characters always helped make the rest of the image better. My start point was always the nose. For humans I'd do the right side of their face to begin the work. There's also the idea of trying to think of specific shapes a part of the body, clothing, etc. most looks like. Knowing that 'shape' could help you make it more like what you'd want to? Knowing how you 'build' your character with various strokes of your mouse / pen can definitely help you think of areas to touch up on things. :)
