Rhy landed back in the woods. This time he looked around before shifting back into human form. There was no one, no creatures this time. He didn’t feel like being attacked again. After shifting back to his human form, he walked out of the woods. He walked into the school, getting a few glances from others. He ignored it, and started to walk back up to his room. He saw a group of gang walking down the stairs. Rhy walked over to the side to get past them. The group noticed him, and some of them nudged who looked like the leader of the group. The leader noticed him, and walked towards him. He stood in front of him and didn’t let him pass. After a few seconds, he got tired and his temper started to rise. ‘What do you want?’ he asked, growling a bit. ‘I wanted to say hi.’ The leader said, sarcastically. Rhy didn’t really get the sarcastic tone, and said ‘Well, I don’t want to. Now get out of my way if you don’t have any business with me!’ he said, and pushed him slightly. The leader didn’t budge and laughed. ‘You really thought I wanted to say hi?’ he said. ‘Don’t you remember what you did to me?’ ‘No. I never recall seeing you in the first place.’ Rhy said, wondering what the hell this guy was saying and his temper still rising. He was tired from flying for a long time, and he wanted to rest, though dragons could stay awake for as long as a week. That didn’t mean that he didn’t want to rest, though. The leader laughed horribly again, and pushed Rhy back a bit. ‘I’m that werewolf you punched straight in the jaw, and I want apology.’ He said. ‘The fuck?’ Rhy thought. ‘You attacked me first! And I believe you should be the one to apologize.’ he said. ‘Well, I don’t want to. But I do want an apology from you. Unless you want to get attacked and beaten again.’ The leader said.
Rhy rubbed his temples. This guy was seriously getting on his nerves. He didn’t want this. He didn’t want all of this. Not when he had a lot to deal with already. ‘I don’t want to. And if you don’t want to get beaten, in front of your gang, I suggest you buzz off.’ He said. The leader laughed as if he saw something funny, and turned towards his gang. ‘Did you hear what this boy said?’ he asked. ‘He wants to beat me! Oh, I’m so scared!’ he said sarcastically. Then he leaned towards him. ‘I, suggest, that you apologize to me, or get your arm ripped to shreds.’ He said, dangerously, thought it didn’t sound dangerous to Rhy at the least. He had dealt with werewolves and other creatures before, and they weren’t the least of his problems. They were always so weak… so fragile. Although they were stronger than normal humans. Still, they didn’t match the strength of a dragon. ‘Try me.’ Rhy said, smiling evilly. If the leader was caught a bit off guard, he didn’t hide it well. Clearly he didn’t expect him to challenge him. ‘You don’t know who you’re messing with. So I’ll give you another chance. Your final chance. Apologize, and no blood will be spilled.’ He growled, his wolf emerging a bit. Rhy didn’t get fazed by it in the least. ‘If you’re so confident, why don’t we find out who’s the dominant one over here? In the woods, right now. I suggest you back off now, still. You don’t know who I am, or what I am.’ Rhy said, laughing a bit. The leader frowned a bit, then his expression got angry. ‘Challenge accepted.’ He said, looking angry now. ‘No magic, no cheating. Let’s see who’s the stronger here.’ Rhy suppressed a grin. ‘Fine by me.’
After a little while, they were all in the woods. The leader stood against Rhy and turned to his gang. ‘Don’t interfere.’ He said. ‘I’m going to teach him a lesson. And I want it to be between him and me.’ His gang nodded, and Rhy smiled devilishly. One by one? This was going to be too easy. The leader turned to him. He shifted into his wolf, and the yellow eyes of his wolf stared at him like he was staring at his prey. Rhy considered changing into his dragon as well, just to see how he and his gang would act, but decided against it. He had came too far just to reveal his identity. And just showing off wasn’t worth the risk. The wolf in front of him growled, and looked like he was searching for the best place to attack first. Rhy just smirked, and stood there. The wolf thought he was just there mocking him, and got angry, and lunged. Rhy let his dragon surface a bit. Just enough to let him see better and get his reflexes faster. The wolf was aiming for his neck. An instant death blow. Just before the wolf got his attack done, he raised his hand and slapped him away right in the chin. The wolf looked dazed, then looked straight at him angrily. He knew Rhy had slapped him deliberately. ‘You dare disrespect me?’ he growled. His growl was much shallower than his own. ‘You’ll pay for that.’ He said, and lunged at him again. This time at his stomach. Rhy smiled. Not only was it fun to slap an asshole right in the chin, this werewolf was much weaker than what he was used to. This was going to be fun.
For the next 10 minutes or so, he kept defending himself by punching or slapping, humiliating the leader to no end. As Rhy was already hardened by surviving, fighting this werewolf who probably never knew the meaning of surviving was too easy for him. The werewolf couldn’t even scratch him, and it was infuriating him. Rhy could literally see the anger and him fuming. ‘Still in it for more?’ Rhy asked, teasingly, infuriating the leader even more. ‘Why don’t you start fighting instead of acting like a pussy?!’ the leader growled. Rhy laughed. ‘You wouldn’t be able to hold back one blow.’ He said between laughs. ‘You’re so weak compared to others… I wonder what your gang is thinking following you. Maybe your gang should follow someone else, haha!’ That must have really got on the nerves of the leader, aka asshole, as he literally jumped on him without a thought with an angry growl. This time, Rhy didn’t let up. He was getting tired of this anyways. Just as the werewolf reached his neck, he backstepped and punched him straight in the underside of his jaw. As expected, the werewolf instantly went unconscious and flew backwards because of the hit. He could hear the leader’s jaw bone snapping out of place as his fist hit its target. The werewolf hit the ground with a thump, and didn’t move. He wasn’t dead, Rhy was sure. It took more than one hit to kill a werewolf with a punch, no matter how weak it was. But he was unconscious, not able to do anything. ‘Anyone want to have a go?’ Rhy asked, smiling, presenting himself to the gang. The group shifted on their feet uneasily. Rhy looked at each gang member. A few of them looked at them with hatred, but most of them looked at him in fear or avoided his eyes. Still, no one volunteered to challenge him. That was to be expected, though, from his experience. With most animal shifters, beat the leader, and you win. ‘Well.’ He stated. ‘If none of you have any business with me, I guess I’ll get going.’ And with that, he turned around and started to exit the woods. But after taking a few steps, he turned back around. ‘Oh, and please do pass a message for him, will ya?’ he said. The gang listened. ‘If he tries to challenge me again, I’m not holding back then. It might get bloody, and probably much worse than a dislodged jaw.’ With that, Rhy turned back around and exited the woods.

A week passed after the event. The werewolf leader had gotten out of the infirmary a few days ago, and they hadn’t seen each other since their fight. The way he obtained that info about the werewolf was through other’s gossip. According to the rumor, the leader had had an unfortunate accident in the woods and dislodged his jaw. It wasn’t a complete lie, and Rhy was thankful that the rumor didn’t include him and the leader fighting. He regretted fighting when he walked back into his room. He should’ve controlled his temper. He always lost his temper. And he always regretted it after losing it. There wasn’t a lot he’d lost that day, if anything. But still, fighting wasn’t always the answer. Of course, the leader nor the gang would want to say that they were beaten, but still, he was thankful that the rumor didn’t include him. It would’ve raised a lot of questions of how he was able to defeat a werewolf. It was obvious to him, being a dragon, but others didn’t know it.
He was currently in a class. They were learning about potions now. It was their first year and one of their first classes, so they were just learning the basics. So far, Rhy understood everything he had learnt. If you squeezed the liquid out of Mandrax, it could be used for almost anything to heal a non-lethal injury, and the squeezed Mandrax could be powdered and mixed with other ingredients, which were used for multiple purposes, most of them doing something with healing a person. If you boiled Venis, that made a very basic background for making potions. Professor Exen told the class not to touch the boiled Venis, as it would suck up all the magic from you for days. Boiled Venis were used to suck up magic from other ingredients. Still, some touched it, and they weren’t able to attend the class for a few days. Snorting at their dumbness, Rhy picked up his chopped Jamaica, and put it in the boiling pot. He had carefully measured the amount he would use and chopped it. Too much might be lethal, as it wouldn’t give time for the body to adjust, though it would take a lot, and too less would make the potion take too much time to take effect. It was vital that the maker of the potion used the exact amount that was given. Professor Exen passed by his desk, and praised him, as normal. Rhy was one of the best, and his professor liked him. Rhy didn’t understand one thing, though. Why did he need to learn healing potions when he was a dragon? He had already used the healing potion, as Professor Exen told his class to do so, but it only delayed his healing abilities. It wasn’t effective on him at all. Of course, he was going to, or he was hoping, that he would learn how to brew more useful potions.
Rhy put the last ingredient inside his pot. Now all he had to do was to wait for 30 minutes then pull out the used ingredients. He pulled out another book from his satchel and started to read. ‘Mr.Quan.’ Professor Exen said, when she was about to pass him again. ‘Are you done?’ ‘Yes, Sir.’ Rhy replied. ‘Now I only have to wait for… 17 minutes before the potion is done and I have to pull out the used ingredients.’ ‘Good. And what are you reading?’ ‘Umm… About another subject, sir.’ He said, knowing his professor won’t like it. ‘A warning for you, Mr.Quan. I don’t care if you read another potion book, but no studying other subjects in my class.’ Professor Exen said, sternly. ‘Apologizes, Sir. It won’t happen again.’ Rhy said, putting the book back in his satchel. ‘Good.’ Professor said, and walked away to see his other students. Rhy let out a breath which was half a sigh. He had developed affinity towards Offensive and Defensive spells. But still, reading about other subjects while in a class was wrong. ‘Guess I should stop reading other subjects.’ He thought and looked at the clock on the wall. 13 minutes till finishing.
The rest of the class passed uneventfully. That was the end of the class for the day. Finally. His master professor and the headmaster was still discussing about him coming and going to home everyday. That didn’t stop Rhy from flying, though. He went to his room, threw the satchel on the bed, and walked back out. There was still daylight left. He had quite a bit of time before curfew. He walked into the woods once more.
Time for another flight.
