Something quick I started as a desperate doodle to get me into the mood for drawing.
Since the first time I drew her, I've been wondering how Helena would look like without her wetsuit hood ... We got a glimpse at her face - by that I mean an unfinished version of it - in here casual pic, but I cheated my way out by giving her a hoodie summer dress.
But! Here is she now! My main issue was her being 'bald' or more like, very bland when it came to the top of her head; tried scales with different shapes and patters, but eventually went with a feathered design ... It gave her a much needed feature to her overall silhouette, as well as focus on her eyes. Hesitated between orange and blue feathers, but after much pain, I went with the orange ones

Since I've only seen her in this: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/25902370/ , I thought she'd be sporting a cobra-like hood collapsed under her clothing and gear. Possibly for heat dissipation.

I thoroughly approve of your choice to go orange with her feathers, but I'm sure that comes as no surprise. She looks great though honestly! Undeniably feminine and really quite pretty, earthy yet her eyes and feathers add a nice little bit of 'spice' to her overall look, and she's just got a whole lot of interesting shapes and detail to look at as drawn so well by you! She's pretty, she's pretty awesome, and I can't wait to see however she appears next time!
Also, I just realized this looks like she might be taking a selfie? Her arm up like that almost looks like she's holding the camera to take this shot?
Although I don't think she'd do that, and the arm isn't quite right for that sort of thing, so it's probably a coincidence and her arm is like that because she's holding onto the side of a ship or something.
