Is there a story behind this? Delightful piece!

The story behind this is that its a Princess Mononoke AU where Moro survives the final battle and reluctantly agrees to become the protector and patron deity of Lady Eboshi's new farming settlement in exchange for food offerings; much like how ancient Japanese farmers used to leave food offerings at wolf dens to invoke a wolf's protection against deer and boars that go after their crops. As you can see, Moro's gotten very fat from the food offerings and Ashitaka, who's the only one brave enough to feed her, is both resigned and amused by his current predicament in life.

That's a really cute and endearing backstory, actually!

I honestly just love the expression on Ashitaka's face. He's more or less come to accept the fact that Moro isn't gonna stop getting fatter and that he enables her gluttonous appetite by delivering her food offerings from Lady Eboshi's people. I also love how she's snacking on what appears to be a boar's leg. All that boar meat has to go somewhere I guess. Anyway, awesome work as always, Featherhead!

I'm really loving these massive Moro pics and hoping to see some more. :)
