Ah okay, I recall your featured submission on your page showing the family members, and maybe I've lightly encountered other pieces and/or you mentioning it, though it's hazy for me.
Sounds interesting, though! Is it a mystery series, or general family drama/intrigue stuff? Or yes to both?
Someone made a Clue reference in one of your other map-uploads, and it certainly reminded me of that, though it also triggered memories of an old text-adventure mystery game by Sierra, The Colonel's Bequest, hence why I'm inclined to imagine a mystery setting, whether that's the case or not.

That's alright. Only a few people really seem to be interested in my story. Which is alright; some attention is better than none. XD
Thank you, though. Its more the drama/intrigue stuff, although there *are* mystery elements. Heh heh, and "Clue" was definitely one of the many inspirations for my story, so its fitting. I never heard of "The Colonel's Bequest", though.

You're welcome! I hope it continues to go well; I might take a better looksie at it in time. :3
As far as the Colonel's Bequest goes, it's one of those old-school "type command" games where you're on an old plantation in Louisiana during the 1920s. Playing as a female investigator named Laura Bow, you investigate a series of murders occurring during the night at the house and its grounds, which involve the family and household of one Colonel Dijon (insert another Clue joke here). He has gathered his family to lay out the details of his final will, over which SOMEONE is killing everyone else. It's been described as pretty "Agatha Christie-ish."
Anyhoo, it was just the prospect of inner-family issues occurring in a big ol' house that reminded me of it, though I suppose that doesn't necessarily mean it'll go THAT far.

Heh, me too. But yeah, go ahead and take a better look when you have the time. :)
Ah, sounds like a classic "Murder Mystery Mansion" story. But I can see why you'd think that. And a lot of the story hasn't been figured out yet, so who knows what'll happen at Villa DeRatry in the future. ;)

Eh, not really. I mean, they certainly aren't cramped, they're roomy enough. But they aren't luxuriously large like the ones in the mansion. The servant's quarters consists of two stories with a main entryway, a lounge/kitchen area, and bedrooms - each with its own bathroom (that has only the essentials: toilet, shower, sink, mirror, cabinet, light).
They're modest abodes, but I think the servants prefer them that way; they're easier to take care of (after all, they're expected to keep the giant mansion spotless, and that's hard work; you don't want to bothered with that once your shift is over). Best of all, the servants don't have to pay rent, nor do they have to pay for parking. So they get to save their paychecks up until they decide to move on with their lives (and by then, new servants get hired).
As for the treehouses, I haven't come up with any specific details for them, aside from the following:
-Ferin's treehouse is the biggest (because she's Daddy's Favorite) and looks like a castle.
-Robert's treehouse, though not as big as his sisters', is still pretty large and looks like a cross between a fortress and a ship.
-Elga's treehouse looks like a quaint little fairy tale cottage.
Not only that, but Clint has had the treehouses maintained over the years... and expanded. So Ferin, Robert and Elga can still use them, even as adults. (I got the idea after reading about "Treehouses for Adults.") I've already decided that Ferin likes to throw the occasional party in her treehouse, though Robert likes to go to his to be alone. Elga doesn't really use hers' a lot, mostly because its design only drives home how she's a "pauper" next to the DeRatry siblings.

Yup, good. Glad you think so. X) Oh yes, its a lot more convenient for him to live there, since he can get to work right away. Plus his mom wants him around more (Opal used to live in her own house, but ever since all her kids went off to college, she decided the house was too big and lonely, and moved into the servant's quarters. Its now easier for her to start breakfast for the DeRatrys in the morning. Also, fun fact: she still owns her old house, so she rents it out for some extra income).
Indeed they are. :D I've googled a few treehouse images that helped me figure out how they should all look. :)

HAHAHAHA! Well, they can certainly "pay him a visit"; all they have to do is go up when he's there, knock on the door, and have some excuse: like can they borrow something from him, or can he help change a light bulb, or can he help them move something, or would he give them a ride since their own car isn't working, etc. XD
Oh indeed. Where I live, if I get caught during Rush Hour, it takes an hour just to get home from work. I plan on finding a job where I don't have to get on the freeway to get to it.
