Good catch! This was taken in a parking lot at an old Amtrak station that CSX now uses as a MOW building I think. As I said, it was taken in Fostoria, Ohio. This is a great place. Let me make a little diagram here...Each / is one set of tracks. So there are a total of 4 rails for each //.

Because of the road in the middle allowing access to that parking lot, and the lack of the gate on that side, they put up a signal for safety for those in the parking lot.

Awesome! These unusual crossing semaphores are pretty rare any more. It's really great this one still exists. If you get a chance it'd be neat to find out who made the signals, such as RACO, or Griswold or any number of others.

Next time I'm there I'll try to remember to take a look. No promises though. It's also going to be a while too.
