unfortunately nowdays every car has what they like to call "vents". which is something you see everyday on car that have absolutly no need for these vents, it disgusts me, companies like ford and chevy. every Pontiac g series now has vents, a shitty car make like shit but looks fast, typical american industry. the new ford focus has vents, hell the new carmaro has these indentions like they were thinking about making vents but then relieze that they are using tax payer money to build this piece of shit car so then just made it half assed
vents nowdays or overrated, vents belong on exotics and cars that truly deserve vents, not some douche bag american car.

I have a BMW that can outperform a Ferrari 360, but cooling was a huge issue, possibly the biggest issue after the cost, even so, all the extra air-flow components are hidden. It would have been easy to sculpt in some vents, which would drop the temperature by 12 degrees Celcius. But I did it the hard way, through a series of more expensive cooling alternatives, because it's not really an air-intake kind of car. In that respect, vents are a cheaper option.

They do. Mine work overtime, stopping the brakes from catching fire, stopping the oil from catching fire, stopping the throttle bodies from catching fire, basically if a vent got blocked, the car would catch fire.

I want to shake your hand for hashing out such music to my ears. I don't get it with the whole 'vent' thing on eco and daily cars. Yea they may make the car look nice and sleek; but damn, the auto makers goes through the hell of designing them there, at least make the bloody things functional too! God, would it really cost that wicked much to just cut out the space, vent it properly, and feather it with fiberglass for a clean look?
Honestly, most those 'vents' on the bonnets of those cars that look like they have superchargers or breathers (99-2004 stangs, lot of camaros, and many others... namely American trash lol), I would think it's drag-co would be high honestly, as it's just a protruding object from the car that has no real function/flow lol
