A fun little weekend project I took over from my buddy
Scootley
I mean, it's WarCraft, I can't not do it... and since I am not an active player, it was a chance to actually find out who is in the Horde now x) (I only play Frozen Throne so I'm kind of behind on some info)
If you want to see do more passion projects (as if all of my work isn't pure passion) then check out my Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/user?u=3094898

Gilneas/worgen was a pretty awesome addition. If WotLK had that content tacked on, then it'd be perfect... but yeah, every xpac they add 1 cool new thing for every 8-10 cool old things that they take away or destroy. XD worst part is how the devs tell their fans "you don't know what you want, you think you do, but you don't" whenever they receive good constructive feedback.
This looks really cool, but I could see one race missing from that pic if there was any worth mentioning. I see two trolls there, but I assume one is Zandalari? So the third race of trolls missing for Horde are the larger Revantusk Forest Trolls. I think I see what appears to be a Leper Gnome? Those are kinda Horde I guess? I know the Blood Elves use some as slaves and the Forsaken of all people treat them better as assistants. What else... I mean, a lot of people don't know, but there is a fair amount of Grimtotem Tauren in the Horde as a result of a large group of them breaking off in defiance of Magatha under Jevan Grimtotem, so they're allies too, but I suppose they just count as regular Tauren, but with a more distinctive look, since they all have black fur and skeletal-looking warpaint.
You plan on making one of these for Alliance races? That might be more complicated, since y'know... Void Elves, High Elves, and there is like 3 or 4 tribes of Furbolgs that are apart of the Alliance while the rest are neutral or hostile? And then there is like... Kul tirans now that just look overly larger? Lol, the Alliance has a few allied races that aren't playable most people don't know about, like them Frostborn Dwarves in Northrend.
Oh, also... Someone in here said something about Horde Humans? I dunno what they meant by off-color? But unlike IRL, Humans don't discriminate against each other based on skin color or appearance, they're all unified in world of warcraft, come from the same race and place and while they have different kingdoms, by nature all humans look diverse as Draenor orcs do with their clans, but they're all still Orcs and now a unified race regardless of appearance. The only Humans to ever join the Horde were the Alterac ones and they was because they were a small kingdom, cowardly, wanted power, and the Horde threatened to steamroll them if they didn't allow them the use of their mountain passes. As a result? Alterac was obliterated and now the remaining Humans that were once IN the Horde hate the Horde AND the Alliance, so there ya go. There is neutral mercenary humans who have no nations, like pirates, but from what I seen in a quest where the Horde work with some human pirates, some refuse the help the Horde and take pride in their Alliance heritage and try to kill you if you're a Horde player, so it looks like Humans aren't keen on helping the Horde even if they're neutral ones.
Lastly, apologies in advance for the large post, it is a full opinion, mixed with questions, answers, compliments, and constructive criticism coming from someone who dabbles and reads a lot of lore stuff and has a passionate appreciation for it or work involving it. I like this picture a lot, because most people who'd make a picture like this about Horde races, would only include the playable ones. The others who are non-playable deserve attention too, they might be allied races one day and I thank you for representing them properly and doing them justice.

Given that I am just a WarCraft 3 player, I was just following instructions on what races to paint. My default policy being "More is better" I didn't mind adding anything. :)
As for Alliance art, I'm sure I'd love doing it as a commission but on my own, if I have the time at all, I'd probably do more Horde stuff and Azeroth landscapes.
