I have a question.

Should you be advertising or doing daily streams before your backlog is clear?

Edit: To be clear, I don't begrudge you the stream commissions or anything. I'm just wondering why I see you advertising new services or same-day commissions when there's people staring down the barrel of half a year on their stuff. If you don't want to do stuff, just offer a refund.

I certainly see your point. And I wish to be absolutely clear, but I will try to be brief:

Why I continue to open the Streams and Overnights? Unfortunately, I need to the quick business sustain my livlihood: rent, bills, food.

My current backlog is about: 7-characo, 5-adopts, 3-tailor-made, and 1-model add-ons.

I'm usually rarely ever this late with such orders. But as I shared with those clients: there are some factors I failed to compensate for, which cause the unintended delay.

So I ensure several things to not be totally unprofessional (which I loath to be, but must acknowledge my follie):

. Weekly/bi-weekly updates: about 14 have been sent: the early ones sharing my miscalculation that tangled things up. The clients should know ALL of the below. I've only shared with them so far.
....I was trying to phase out doing streams/overnights...overnight. Which is why I accepted more characo orders than I normally allow myself. To help ease mental health reasons mentioned below.
....I didn't compensate the extra work I'd need to do in order to balance out a business situation (which was in effect for about 6 months before then. I had planned for said business situation...yet missed this one thing when wanting to phase out the streams and overnight).
....Forcibly carving time out for more personal work for health reasons.
....A couple of PRO projects that were delayed. (I've let them know my plan of action to try and help speed things in the long run (finish the PRO, to free up the schedule to run back to back on the concepts.

. Extra/ free artwork: A practice I've always done for late work: Range from another view, another outfit, etc. For those currently on my list, I intend to give a promo code to use with any service. Some will cover their entire payment, while the few heavy load orders, will cover just MOST.

. CLOSE accepting new orders for all backlogged services: no new adopts until the current ones are hatched, no new models, etc. (which is also why I have not re-opened the PRO, which would be a GREAT help these days). Another precaution I've always had in place: Only accept a certain number of orders for each service

. And I also did not compensate for a particularly slow phase of clients: The usual slow season sure, but this year was beyond the usual expectation [ actually, this bit I have not shared in the weekly/bi-weekly updates yet. I feel mentioning slow biz is unbecoming].

If a client have not received the mentioned updates, please let me know as soon possible! They've alternated between weekly and bi-weekly, And it'd be disastrous if you really were not getting them with the others. And you should all know that you can approach me with ANYTHING, whether grievance, not seeing emails, unfairness, etc. I'd be very surprised IF a client had issue and never let me know.

I want to stress: the services I'm behind on, are my absolute FAVORITES. I wish I could do them as my main commission offers! Hence my overzealous handling of transitioning away from stream and overnight. Those are the services that will always remain open to the public when I do finally end stream/overnight/ and oc commissions for the public.

No journal really: only the clients on the list know, cause they are the ones it effects. I'm not a sharer, especially concerning health and struggles in general. Only when I feel it necessary and fair the other party know :) Though now I'm unnaturally sharing more on youtube and twitter, solely as a tactic to improve my traction: as my natural silence isn't working.
