Shirley walked into work that morning feeling the first twinges of labor. This wasn't as alarming as it may have been for some women. This was the ewe's seventh (or was it eighth?) pregnancy, and she knew the drill by now. Part of her considered begging off for a bit, but the expense report on the MacDougal account really needed doing today, and besides, she tended toward longer labors. She'd probably be good to get through the day.
“Morning, Marion," she said, greeting the receptionist. ""You're looking flat today."
"Morning, Shirley," the otter replied. "Yeah, I just went pop last night. Twins, can you believe it?"
"Considering the size of you? I'm surprised it wasn't triplets."
The two of them shared a laugh as Shirley made her way to her desk.
