A short time ago I found this little factoid in a Tumblr
Victorian England: 1837-1901
American Old West: 1803-1912
Meiji Restoration: 1868-1912
French privateering in the Gulf of Mexico: ended circa 1830
Conclusion:
an adventuring party consisting of a Victorian gentleman thief, an Old West gunslinger, a disgraced former samurai, and a French pirate is actually 100% historically plausible.”
Thanks to Idlestatus https://www.furaffinity.net/user/idlestatus/ We get to see Luna, Purple, Abel and Lyn's characters in a Historically Plausible RPG.

The fellow with the mustache is my own character (and self-insertion furry avatar) Abel.
The other three, including the boxy-eared purple lagomorph are characters created by the artist IdleStatus in his comic strip. I just thought this would be a fun thought to see brought to life.
It's not the first time I got him to draw Abel...

Or Abel with his own characters, he's very open minded that way.

Well, long ago I used to have a furry version of myself that was a cat I was using in doodles but when finally I got an email I needed a name that was unique and didn't end with a series of numbers because it had been chosen many many times before. It was then I remembered a character in a bit of fanfiction I was writing. Abel DuSable was intended to be a villain who lived in the Warner Brothers cartoon universe (I have always been a fan of Tiny Toon Adventures) and his name was chosen to have that sort of cartoony alliteration that WB toons had.
Back then Abel was supposed to be a con man of sorts, the kind of guy who understood cartoon mentality and took advantage of it often, resulting in the heroes having to work for a victory.
Anyways after getting my email with his name I wound up feeling more of a connection to the guy. He lost the arrogant attitude and became more like me. A writer, and doodling idea man who would rather get along than go too much against the grain. But at the same time when I put this "new and improved" Abel into fiction I found that he had become a kind of... cosmic swizzle stick. His presence causing things to get stirred up. Often things would happen TO him.
He reflects many of my own tastes, like his love of coffee, Role-playing games and puns but sometimes ideas from others get added in. Like when I grew a big handlebar mustache, Thorne Mouse said "You should give him one too!", and history was made.
He exists in fiction as his own person as much as the presence of my own wishes, desires and ego, and because I like to see him drawn in many different artistic styles I see Abel as a kind of universal anyman. I make the joke to every artist I commission in regards to why he can be in so many places and styles... "Many Worlds, One Mustache".
Who he is world-by-world depends a lot on the world, But I suppose in the end he is reactionary. Things happen and he gets pulled in one way or another. Like any of us, sometimes he gets more proactive, especially when it involves something he wants but more often than not I find the best ideas around him involve him just reacting to stuff.
IN a post apocalyptic world he's a scavenger with a golf bag full of pain-inducing implements, in Harry Potter he's a Hogwarts student in Slytherin house, in Supermegatopia he's one of the rare few people who don't have super powers, in Brainsister's "Warner"-filled town he's a Deputy taking orders from Sherriff Reddy and Lt. Willin'.
Hope this helps to understand the guy a little more.

For sure! I like how flexible he is and how you don't feel a need to make him an over-powered character. I guess what I'm getting at is, you seem to be over the Mary Sue stage that so many authors go through and it's great to see him as such.
