Shadow clay figure
But wait, there is more! XD
Yes, another Shadow, yet another older project, however this one is only from last autumn. There is also a bit more backstory for that one. Basically one night I got hit by an idea, I should get a blue crystal wolf and red crystal lion, both to represent the characters closest to me. So I spent hours browsing through ebay, etsy, amazon, and whatever else I could find, though sadly to no avail. Even non-crystal figures weren't an option cause there simply weren't any, or there were but the colors were flipped (red wolf, blue lion). Not to mention that as much as I love Chinese guardian lions I got really damn sick of seeing them everywhere while looking for a basic red lion. So the next day I decided fuck it I'm gonna buy clay and make some myself as substitutes. Sadly however all the hobby stores and such only had the really cheap, dry on air, clay for children which I feel just didn't want to sculpt well. Thus that paired with my inexperienced resulted in a rather derpy prototype, in fact at one point he looked more like a seal. I do hope to retry with better clay at some point but for now I decided to turn that prototype into a more detailed sculpture, however that didn't happen until yesterday when I was also working on the plastic figure (yes I was working on both at the same time). So last night this buddy got painted and got the first half of the varnish, then today I did the bottom and also sculpted, painted, and sealed the earring, as that wasn't originally planned but decided it's too classic of a trademark for him to leave it out.
Again I wish I was better at this, but he is quite cute, so I'm glad for at least trying.
