Here comes Dupey Cottontail,
Runnin' down the doxy trail.
Borkin', barkin', Easter's gone away.
Givin' to all that he does see,
A special blend of canine glee,
Even though it's no longer Easter day.
He's got jelly beans for Tommy,
Colored eggs for sister Sue,
None of them are made of chocolate,
For a dog that just won't do!
Oh, here comes Dupey Cottontail,
Runnin' down the doxy trail.
Borkin', barkin', next Easter's far away.
But the canine we do love,
Is king of the date that few know of,
He's here to celebrate a great May Day!
So try to be a good child,
Bad ones get growls and nips,
And only those with pettin's
Get candy or bacon strips!
Yes on a late spring morning,
You can see that he's been there,
The leftovers are missing,
And there's pawprints everywhere!
