... okay, so I assume there was a battle, she lost, and her wings were taken as a consequence of that failure. Now she's seeking redemption by taking out the guardian before she can awaken to her powers, and thus end a threat and potentially redeem herself in her master's eyes. That's just a guess, mind you.
