This rock, a sample of lunar basalt, was part of a larger sample collected by the crew of Apollo 11. I didn’t make note of all the details, but it is approximately 3-1/2 inches in height. The opposite side is smooth where it was sliced from the rest of the sample. The color is much darker than it appears in this photo. It is so cool to know that there is a piece of the moon in a small Kansas town.
