Now that I'm getting into using a tablet properly, all that's left is a copious amount of practice before I can art really well. How does one practice? By doing it a lot.
Easier said than done, of course. We need topics. Concepts. Something to do over and over, while at the same time, keeping it interesting enough to avoid it become a menial chore. Once we stop enjoying something, we stop getting better at it.
I started drawing stuff, practicing sketching things I saw, but then I figured I should draw similar pictures all in succession. A common theme, perhaps even a story. To get inspiration, I browsed through you guys' work and saw a lot of artwork was based off existing concepts. Except done better, naturally.
Should I do that too? Eh, still felt like it would be a chore recreating someone else's artwork. So, I thought, rather than redraw already-existing art pieces and story concepts, I instead illustrate one of my own stories. ... well, OUR own. Adomm told me the story, I relayed it to you, so I suppose we share credit.
So, here we go. The start of the sequence of our first short story. As I progress through this, I will (hopefully) improve over time, so you may see changes in quality as I discover new things. Let this be both a story and a journey. Most importantly, though, let it be a form of entertainment.
