I'm sure SOMEONE is going to miss Cot..if it's murder, it's prison, if it's assault. It's still prison, if charges aren't pressed it's a minimal three years
Not to mention, his family already treats him like some estranged child. This wouldn't exactly grant him any acknowledgement. Hell if anything they'd use it as an excuse to pretend he never existed

*taps head* "Think, B.R.M. Laws apply in that world...While Cot was antagonized he wasn't defending him self. What he did is still illegal and if he killed, it's murder 1st degree, unless it was self defense.
Cot's in trouble...even if he assaulted a jerk. The law's not on his side

^ Agreed. They made unwanted physical interaction that resulted in Cot being injured, despite telling them not to touch em. Then they took his stuff against his will at the threat of more physical violence; burglary.
This totally falls within self defense. :) Plus, a rock across the lower jaw probably won't kill em, just teach him a painful lesson with each cold drink he takes for quite some time ;3

in the long run it will only serve to punish the father for his lack of care down the line. When his work is finally over later in life, he will have no one to spend his retirement with. No amount of hard earned money or will can get them back. His grave stone will be "He was a committed hard worker." May he work ant toil endlessly in hell.
Growing up, I was the little fat kid with glasses who read the book, asked questions in class and wrecked the 'bell' curve. Think I didn't get my @$$ beat a few times? I put a hairline fracture in one kid's skull in Middle School and broke another one's jaw the year I was a Junior in High School.
Parents weren't as litigious in the early '70s as they are now. I was lucky to get off with a couple of suspensions. The authorities knew who the real troublemakers were -- the ones they encouraged by ignoring them.
