This could be a case of curiosity on the dragoness's part and perhaps on Fafnir's as well, since this I think would be a more playful situation and quite possibly part of a romantic evening between them. Though it could be possible of course that Fafnir was in fact the dragoness's captive but managed to win her over with his charms while being bound and that was their first meeting. In that case the first kiss didn't take place until after the gag had been removed but they'd both wondered what it would feel like to kiss and be kissed through a gag. Trying it with a tape gag might be just one of the experiments and to be followed by other types of gag, just to be thorough and all in the name of curiosity. The dragoness though really likes the sensation of grabbing Fafnir's beard and letting her fingers sink into it as she holds him firmly for a kiss, though she doesn't necessarily let him know that and maybe Fafnir pretends he doesn't know it makes her feel wild every time she goes for that...
