If i recall correctly 'Kampher' is german for 'fighter' (if i'm wrong i apologize i'm not fluent in anything but english.)

Long story short, Kampher is a fighters sword, that is if the fighter uses blades and not just his fists. :3 Like Sanosuke from Samuria X. -drools over... his zanbatou-
