Okay, an encore then while my frying pan warms up. Rough and sloppy, mostly because I have no idea how to play this song (and no, I'm not going to study it like a scientist - or listen to it before playing for that matter). You may consider it an interesting experiment of sorts.
(And yes, it does drag on a little.. don't force yourself to keep listening to me.)
Also, also, also note, I'll have some (fully) original stuff coming too. Honest. And now, food!
I don't feel no pain no more
I don't feel no pain no more
I've left this cruel world behind
I found my peace of mind
I don't feel no pain no more
Time and tide are flowing over me
I once was blind but now I see
The answer lies within your heart
Memories are only about the past
The present time will never last
The future lies within your heart
Yes I know I'm going home
Yes I know I'm going home
When I reach the end you know I found a friend
Yes I know I'm going home
I don't mind if the sun don't shine
Or if it's pouring down with rain
There will be a smile on my face
When I see you again

It's good to know where you're going, even when you don't know how the song is going because it turned out all right no matter what! I guess it be true, "If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there." But then again, you do know where you're going...so...well, just that one road or maybe two might work. You could probably take any road still, just make some of your own, cut through some forests, swim some streams, speak to some trolls...it's there somewheres. Oh, well...unless it really is just about suicide, but well...that's for future songs on my side of the ring. krakatoa!
I appreciate what you're saying, and I guess it's true. I wasn't really trying to do this particular song just right - it'd always be a failure then; this was about my interpertation of it. And I don't think either is about suicide.. the original focusses on the end of a torturous life and the freedom that it brings, and I focussed on the end of pain in itself, with a bit of an excorcismic touch. So, let's tread to those streams and trolls, shall we then? :)
Interesting. I don't notice these differences myself. I do notice I change the time signature about 5 times though.
Still I was hoping this would somehow draw a significant crowd - I recall from my searches for the Plague Dogs OST two years back that the internet was stuffed with (mostly furry) cults looking for this 'lost' song, or asking how to play it without any documented answers at all. I also think the arrangement/performance of that original version really wasn't very good at all - I'd like to see someone do better, but I don't understand why they're waiting for a mysterious stranger with a suitcase filled with sheet music.
(In case you couldn't tell, I could rant on for a while longer.)
