Haven is part of an outer-galaxy race of beings, whose bodies absorb the light around them to the effect that they look like silhouettes. She's part of their search division, looking for new territories to expand their reach to.
Haven herself is used to being in a super strict training environment, and is used to be highly criticized for her “childish” acts and outgoing personality. However, being on other planets, especially on Earth, she revels in being who she wants to be. Every now and then she finds herself being strict on herself or others, but is usually quick to remember that “she can do otherwise”.
In general, Haven finds a lot of Earths culture to be weird and confusing, from expressions to dress to food. She also often has to wear her helmet when in public, as it sometimes freaks people out to see a “blank” face talking without expressing. She's modified her helmet to visually show some of the emotions she expresses, such as a laughing face when she laughs, or a heart if she really likes something.
