By chance, have you read a comic called "The Marquis" by Guy Davis? This nightmarish unicorn would completely fit in with Guy's twisted devil-beasties. I love it! :D

For the most part they're more humanoid than animal, but there's plenty of ugly, squishy, tentacle-y (and often adult-rated) bits to go around. Guy comes up with some awesomely twisted designs.
