they need 10 gallon tank at LEAST - will last whoooole life... With a good lid. Escape arteests. Heat lamp, a red bulb for night too. feeder crickets that are gut-loaded, teensy fishes (as a treat), pinky mice(preffered). Feed one pinky mouse maybe every week or so. It needs a cool side and a warm side of the tank with a water bowl and a log or cup to hide under too.

DO NOT USE TERRARIUM THAT HAS BITS IT COULD GRAB - Especially pine. Just get a normal carpet floor and it'll be good.

Total it could cost anywhere from 140-200 dollars. Or a little less, depends on teh quality.

Cute garter snake... I've been bit by a wild adult one when I was a little kid cuz it was scared but my mom was able to pick it up and move it to a safe spot

Showed this to my friend, she says what you have there is a ringneck snake, not a garter snake.

My camera did not pick up the red hues. It was a garter.
