I'll say now, I'm not fond of hair in that manner on anthros, prefer the use of scruffy fur or a mane sorta for it, but the highlights are fine. Basically do what you like with them as they're yours!
As for the second, I don't mind it, I find this one especially silly and cute so bonus points there.
