This is the first music post I've made in some time- it's from this summer at the music festival I'm a part of every year.
The piece is by Raff, a little-known composer who lived around the same time as Mendelssohn. He writes in a somewhat similar style- sort of conservative romantic period. These excerpts come from the first movement of his Sinfonietta for winds.
Instrumentation:
2 Flutes
2 Oboes
2 Clarinets (I'm playing the top part)
2 Bassoons
2 Horns
All in all it went well. We were especially busy with orchestra music this summer, so I don't have as much chamber music as from previous years. But here it is- it's a nice piece.
(my usual comments concerning ownership follow)
This is ME performing. When you hear the clarinet, that's ME. This recording was made of the live performance and distributed to the musicians for FREE. It's MY recording of ME playing.
Composed by Joachim Raff.
This performance copyright ME and my friends from the festival.

Absolutely! Wind quintets are really great; you get a good feel for what you need to consider as you play with each of the other woodwinds in the orchestra- so it addresses a lot of different issues at once. Very fun- I played with a quintet through most of college and am in one now as well. Definitely do it if you get the chance :)
