Part of me wasn't sure if I should put this in "originals" or "fan art," since this is a pic of one of my City of Heroes characters...since I made her, tho', I'll stick with "original."
This is Ectogirl, the Living Poltergeist; in CoH terms, she's a Gravity/Kinetics Controller, and in my own terms, she's the end result of a character TOTALLY derailed by the Nicktoon "Danny Phantom." See, way back when, I created a superhero named "Ectoman," sort of a supernatural adventurer akin to Deadman or Ghost Rider. Well, during my efforts to create a "fun superteen" that ultimately resulted in the Mighty Goo, I decided to revise Ectoman as a teenage hero who inherits the original's powers and equipment.
Then Danny Phantom came out.
So, I did what I always do when I get "scooped" on a character idea, shelve it until I can work with it again. Jump ahead a few years and I'm making a character on City of Heroes who has powers that remind me of standard poltergeist behavior, like throwing things around and levitating people against their will, so I call her "Ectogirl," not intending any connection to my failed ghost hero. Since I made her on CoH's premiere RP server, however, I ended up having to give her an origin, which was effectively the original Ectoman's in reverse, in that rather than a person who becomes a ghost, she's a ghost who can become a person. Her personality is also heavily influenced by the cartoon version of Starfire and The Secret from "Young Justice": since she's never been alive before, having been killed in the womb in a car accident, the living world is a source of endless entertainment and education for her, and she's absolutely thriled with every new discovery...basically, I wanted to give her the exact opposite personality you'd expect from her appearance and origin.
Another minor note, while RP-ing her, she developed an unusual verbal tic in that, at random times during a sentence, she'll repeat a consonant sound. The idea is that it's less a stutter than it is that her voice sounds like a very clear old-time phonograph recording that occasionally skips.
