Had this idea for a Sableye Jewel Thief a couple days back, and I recently put him together during some brainstorming with  bh15. Reuben Shafir is a Sableye who had inherited/learned some hypnotism skills from his Hypno father (who was also, at one point, a jewel thief himself). Reuben utilizes these skills to be able to rob people of their gems, jewelries, and other valuables without their knowing.

He actually has quite the alluring voice--and an impressive vocal range--somewhat contrasting from his appearance; while this voice happens to be one of his main methods of employing his hypnotism skills, it also lets him pass himself off as a singer and rapper, coupled with his typical attire. He's even recently considered putting his singer persona to use, writing and recording songs during his spare time (a few of which hide subliminal hypnotic suggestions). A few of these songs include: "I Wanna Steal yo Ruby Heart", "You are the Sapphire of my Eye", "Things Ain't Just Diamonds & Pearls", and "Gold & Silver? Nah, Gimme Platinum Baby", which he plans to be his "debut song".


A Few Random Pieces of Trivia:

- His eyes are smooth and rounded with a Chatoyancy ("Cat's Eye") effect, as opposed to the typical hexagonal-faceted shape seen in most Sableye. Coupled with the shape of his ears, he's often been confused for being a cat.
- He stands at a height of 4'10", roughly an inch shorter than Julian La'Tice.
- His outfit shown here is based on the outfit worn by the Burglar Trainer Class as they appeared in HeartGold and SoulSilver.
- Has a mild case of "Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!"--he has a tendency of getting distracted by shiny objects, especially gemstones. On the flip side, this makes him a great companion to bring along for Shiny Hunting.
- He has his pendulum on his person at almost all times--when not in use, he usually ties it around his wrist like a bracelet.
- He's somewhat put-off by the idea of Mega Evolution, more specifically of what occurs during the process for Sableye. The very thought of it often gives him stomach cramps.
