Note: I put the scorpion's "pectens" on its head. The correct place for 'em, as you might guess, is the pectoral area, underneath.

and, the number "40,000 species" is probably a gross underestimate. As somebody said, taxonomists could keep working at their present rate for hundreds, or thousands, of years before describing all the species on Earth. Unless we manage to reduce species diversity to a small whole number : humans, roaches, deer (a sort of cute mammalian roach), fire ants, house sparrows and possums.

... "Book lungs". I should have thought of that one when I did biology. I mean... I'd certainly have lost points over it, but it would have been worth the laugh... ;p
