Sorry I haven't posted anything in a month, I have been extremely busy with work and I've been drawing personal art. I couldn't bring myself to come back to a regular posting schedule on FA and I still have to figure things out. But for now, here's something I drew for Easter.
This little sequence comes with some contextual storytelling:
It was Easter on the first of April, a Sunday. Eliza decided to bring Carrie along for a little activity since they both didn't work that day. Eliza had found an ad in the paper requesting the help of volunteers to supervise and supply an Easter themed art activity for kids of single parents that unfortunately had to work on Easter, because even if most businesses were on a holiday and were closed, there was some stores that had to stay open. With that in mind, all kinder gardens were closed. Thankfully, an altruistic lady decided to rent a room in the local community center and organize this event. Thus the two young ladies were on their way to the community center with Carrie holding two dozen boiled eggs and Eliza carrying paint, brushes, paper towels and other relevant art supplies.
Once there, the brunette and the bunny were assigned to help two little kiddies and parted with half of their supplies to share with the other kids. At their table sat Gabriel, a young raccoon boy who seemed distressed and unhappy to be here. It turns out he's a real momma`s boy and hated that he had to be left in this unfamiliar place for a day, but he soon clinged to Carrie, admiring her as his temporary replacement caretaker.
Poor Carrie felt rather out of her element, being a recluse and a social stick in the mud, she wished she had stayed home but surely enough Gabriel showed a lot of interest in her artistic sense and they hit it off pretty quickly, plus, a coffee machine sat in the corner of the room if she ever needed her daily dose of caffeine. She painted pretty little eggies and Gabriel tried to recreate her technique, failing due to inexperience and his inadequate dexterity. Carrie did feel sorry for him and made sure to make him the prettiest Easter eggs she could make for him.
The other little kiddie was a mouse named Milène, but she called herself Mimi for short, unlike her little friend Gabriel, she seemed to be having a good time all around, she was a sweet little girl and was more than happy to try painting eggs with our volunteering protagonists. She started out trying to handle the paint brush in her fist, it didn't seem to do her justice and thus she decided to paint with her fingers, as minimalistic and childish as her technique was, Eliza admired her simplistic style and carefree mindset.
Eliza herself was doing better around kids, she had worked a lot of jobs before, and working in a kinder garden was one such job. Kids can be a bit awkward to work with, but they are nothing compared to teenagers or adults, she enjoys interacting and sharing with them, imparting them with her love of arts.
It was an all around enjoyable day and hopefully everyone grew a little bit from the experience.
