I have a DA account, too, and I actually use it more often than here. Im just on here because I want to share my art with a wide variety of people, and since I draw a lot of anthros, I feel it's safe to have an account here to house them. Plus, some of my friends are here too, so I get more chances to [stalk them and] talk to them if one site isn't working for them or something. :)

Im really not sure since I always liked it since I was a kid...I guess it has to do with the fact that the prey is covered in drool (I love slimy things) and then squished through slimy contracting muscles (I also love squishy things). people who dont like vore focus on what's on the other side, which is a secured death, but in reality most vore fans hate it as well (including me). the solution? just remove the death part, so that the prey can enjoy the ride down... the community is separated in two parts. those who like realism -which usually involves pain and death-, and those who like fantasy -where most of the time its consensual and no one is hurt-. then there are those who are into both, there are alternative types of vore (some can be rather strange), and other details and such... it's a bit complicated...
I guess each individual has their own favorite fetishes...while some find it just weird, others find it hot...like gore... I know some people who think its sexy, and I go "WTF?" but the important thing is to respect each other. as if "yiff in hell, furfags!! D:<" wasnt enough...
