Since today officially marks twenty years since CatDog's premiere on Nickelodeon back in April of 1998. I decided what would be better to commemorate this milestone with than a little tribute artwork, so the idea to do this piece came to me after i had already done the previous journal write up of the anniversary earlier on today. This drawing is partially referenced from the cover of the VHS release "Together Forever" though i drew in the other stuff you see to fit the anniversary theme of the work.
So a very happy 20th B-day to one of my favorite childhood Nicktoons of all time, and many thanks to Peter Hannan and the artists and writers who brought this wacky little series to life.

Yeah it's one of my top favorite cartoons from my childhood, i did get the complete series DVD set a while back and watched it for some good old nostalgia.
Hard to believe it has been twenty years already since it first aired, i was labout four years old at the time.

Yeah i liked watching CatDog a lot as a child, and it's news to me that the show had poor ratings. In any event, it seems things got better time in that regard because the show made it to four seasons in total which overall is a pretty good number especially in the era in which it was made (late '90s/early 2000's) and most of the old school Nicktoons (with exception of Rugrats and SpongeBob) got at least three to four seasons tops or even five in the case of Ren & Stimpy and Hey Arnold!.
