This is the national flag of the Skunk nation of Mephitis. Its distinctive design features two bold white strips on a black field representing the skunks. The emblem in the center represents unity of the three skunk nations that united to form Mephiiis. The three stars represent the three heads of state known as the Triad.

Mephitis, located in the south eastern portion of North America, is a first world nation and is a member of the North American Defense Organisation, and the Western Hemisphere Free Trade Agreement. Its economy is based on heavy industry, advance manufacturing, agriculture, and life sciences. However it is renown for high culture, the arts, and for beautiful towns, cities, 4 star cuisines, and country side making this nation a tourist hot spot. Also Mephitis boasts the largest fashion and cosmetics industry on earth making the Skunk Nation the fashion capital of animals and even humans.

The Floridian Peninsula, making up the southern half of Mephitis, is dotted with premier resorts and winter retreats and countless tourist traps.. Even many chipmunks will opt. to spend winter vacationing in Florida instead of enacting the winter ritual of Torper, a time spend in dens to reflect. Though the Keepers tend to frown upon opting out of Torper, nothing is really done to stop chipmunks from heading south for the winter. The Palms, Surf and Sun along with Mephitis's many things to do are just too tempting.
