The FT-15 Raptor is a light armed ground vehicle used by the Alliance as a Light Assault Fast Troop Transport and Infantry Fighting Vehicle. It hovers at 2 feet off the ground and at full speed can reach 300 mph and with the Booster activated it can reach 410 mph. The vehicle is 16 meters in length and has a single gunner and pilot. When not in combat the Gunner doubles as the copilot and sits next to the pilot at all times. It is equipped with a single double barrel Antiinfantry laser turret that can also penetrate medium and light armored targets. The vehicle only has the one turret as primary defence but is capable of performing maneuvers to better acquire targets. This turret can be replaced with either a Bright Spotlight or a Dumbfire Energy Missile launcher. It comes with a shield that protects the craft from most weapons and has armor sufficient enough for protction against most small arms and they have been known to take up to 3 rockets before being knocked out. Inside the vehicle, it can hold 10 Passengers. An additional 12 infantry can ride on top of the chassis, and 2 more groups of twelve on the sides, one group for each side. The vehicle is strong enough to provide mobile cover for infantry in a combat zone and because of its repulsorlift hovering, it can clear most obstacles just by hovering over them. Additionally, this vehicle is the most common vehicle used in patrolling Alliance held territory on the ground as it is fast and can carry multiple squads of infantry. The vehicle is small enough, much smaller then the Liberator MBT, so it is capable of patrolling in city streets much more effectively and in similar Urban environments. The Raptor is commonly deployed from a Bringer in groups of 8-10 with each separate Raptor having at least one full squad of Steeltroopers with it. Additionally. Alliance held Cities, and city planets(Primarily Anu) Have equipped the Police force with unshielded versions of these speeders simply known as the FT-15b variant. With all this said, Raptor are very fast attack craft and can easily outrun and outflank most enemy vehicles, especially on open terrain. Because of this, they have proven extremely effective in combat and far more effective then their previous variant during the Transuniversal Wars, the FT-11 Raptor.
Also additionally, a version of the speeder without the turret is available for civilian use and has a larger passenger capacity, this variant is also used for purely troop transport by Alliance forces but is almost never seen in actual battles.
