Map of Karamador in the Year 20 A 60
This is the map of my fantasy world Karamador. At least my first attempt on it. To be specific, this is the map in 20th age in counted history of Karamador, this time period being a medieval- and renessance- fantasy themed. It's set 5000 years before the post-apocalyptic scifi- era of my stories and characters, and I might make a map of this time as well at some point.
Karamador is a group of continents and islands on Earth- like planet, and is only one group of continents on this one planet. Karamador is largery inhabited by all kinds of humans and humanoids, and all kinds of anthromorphic animals, reptiles, avians and insects. What comes to the anthromorphic animals, or anthros or animal humans as they are called largery in Karamador, it's not even certain what all animal species have evolved into these human- like creatures.
As Karamador is home of many different species, each species have formed up into their own tribes. Some of them minor, some of them major. In 20th age most of the tribes on each land have learned to live together other specied tribes, and rule their kingdoms and nations together. Usually each tribe rules their own holds, but are still lived by outside races too.
Here is an introduction to Karamador's lands, which tribes hold the rule and brief history. (I haven't came up with much history to all lands yet, but I will fill these holes later.)
Akenado
Ruling tribes: Pandas, cats, dragons, pheasants, magpies
Akenado is known for being the home of many marvelous inventions, both magical and scientific. It's also known for it's mighty samurai warriors and ninjas. Throughout the times Akenado has faced many harsh times, whenever by disasters both natural and man- made, and wars among the tribes and other countries, especially against the neighbouring kingdom of Gorendale.
Gorendale
Ruling tribes: Horses, deers, bovines
A land of harsh tundras, few grasslands and high snowy mountains, not much is not known of Gorendale, except their wars especially against Akenado, Parensia and Roylendor throughout the history. The tribes of horses, deers and bovines of Gorendale are known of being strong warriors, whose hatred towards other tribes and kingdoms have been their horror of seeing their feral brethens being hunted and enslaved by them. In recent years they have slowly started to be in friendly contacts with other kingdoms and have opened international trade routes to their capitol city Thornhill to some degree.
Parensia
Ruling tribes: Lions, goats, foxes
Parensia is known of hot vast deserts and dunes with wonderous magical beings that reside throughout it's lands. Not forgetting the amazing cities and palaces that the residing tribes have built throughout the history. When most of the lion tribes were driven off from Afkambash, many of these lions set their new homes in Parensia. After many years of struggling with other species of Parensia, the lions succeeded becoming one of the most dominent tribes of the land.
Roylendor
Ruling tribes: wolves and other canines, eagles, phoenixes
Roylendor is known of it's mighty empire ruled by wolves and eagles that once upon time ruled the whole western continent. The empire is now only a shadow of it's former self thanks to ongoing wars especially against Gorendale, Parensia, Doreador, and Atsbaren, but is still a strong empire.
Doreador Isles
Ruling tribes: Foxes, canines, felines
Once in time just being a group of island under the rule of Roylendor, the fox and dog tribes of these islands eventually stood against the tyrannical rule of Roylendor's wolves. After the first Revolution War in 10A60 the vulpine and canine tribes with the help of feline tribes drove off the wolves and eagles from their island and formed the kingdom of Doreador. Throughout the time both nations have been at war against each other, most noteable Doreador's invasion on Roylendor's soil in 18A80, which resulted in Doreador conquering the south-eastern portion of Roylendor. In time though they made an alliance against the invading reptiles of Atsbaren in 19A31 and later on against the Hordium's insects in 19A50. As in 20th age, Doreador and Roylendor have peace, but the situation with Helenia, the south-eastern Roylendor, has been a difficult situation as of late and reason of many conflicts, resulting the said area becoming dangerous, restless and home of many bandits and pirates.
Atsbaren
Ruling tribes: reptiles, panthers
Atsbaren is a land of lush jungles, murky swamps, high mountains and volcanoes, and home of reptilian tribes. Many parts of Atsbaren have been unsuitable for other races to inhabit, so the whole land is inhabited almost entirely by the reptiles, with just few exceptions like the tribe of panthers. Years ago Atsbaren was ruled by tyrannical warlords who kept attacking and enslaving all non-reptilian races. Although the rule has changed, many kingdoms still hold grudge towards Atsbaren's reptiles.
Hordium
Ruling tribes: insects
Not much is known of Hordium, formely Karandor, except it being the home of anthro insects who hold deep hatred towards all other races of Karamador. Reason for this could be how once in time the reptiles of Atsbaren held the insects as their slaves and cattles when the continent of Karandor belonged to the kingdom of Atsbaren. In time the insects rose up against the reptiles and formed the kingdom of Hordium. Besides the reptiles the insects show equally harsh hatred towards all the other races as well, most likely because the other races helped the reptiles fight the insects when they formed the empire of Hordium and attacked Atsbaren.
Pohjoland
Ruling tribes: bears, lions, canines, swans, elks, humans
A vast kingdom of snowy mountains, harsh tundras, lush grasslands and thousands lakes and forests, Pohjoland is home of many different tribes. It's also one of the lands to where lions of Afkambash were exiled to. Unlike in Parensia, Pohjoland's lion tribes haven't grasped as dominant role, but still rose to be some of the kingdom's major tribes and rulers of all the land's feline tribes. Throughout the times the tribes of Pohjoland have faced many wars and conflicts especially against the neighbouring kingdom of Norengard. Once in time the barbarian and viking tribes in north of Pohjoland, back then no-man's lands, were a threat thoughout the lands, until all Pohjoland's tribes joined forces to form a strong alliance and defeat the vikings and conquer the northern lands. Nowadays Pohjoland has been having friendly ties especially with Doreador Isles and Carilonia.
Norengard
Ruling tribes: ursines, lynxes, humans
A mighty kingdom of strong warriors and mages, Norengard has seen many wars especially against Pohjoland, Carilonia, Akenador and Roylendor, and even civil wars among it's own tribes. After the recent civil wars, the kingdom of Norengard has gotten strong once more.
Carilonia
Ruling tribes: humans, canines, dragons
Carilonia is known of it's differing lands and magnificent castles and epic tales of heroes and battles. Carilonia used to be split up in many kingdoms, until they were united as one against the invading hordes of demons and undeads. Despite still standing as one, Carilonia has seen many civil wars and evil self-pronounced kingdoms rising withing and attemtping to take over the lands.
Darkvinia
Ruling tribes: undeads
Darkvinia used to be part of Norengard, until the undeads rose against the living as one and formed up independent duchy. Through recent years the undeads of Darkvinia have been a threat against all the lands of Karamador.
Shivandia
Ruling tribes: tigers, elephants, cobras
(More info coming soon.)
Afkambash
Ruling tribes: leopards, hyenas, antelopes, goshawks
Land of vast savannahs and deep jungles, Afkambash is home of many different races. Once in time the lions ruled a strong kingdom, but in time got corrupted in power, and other tribes allied together to throw the lions from power and force most of remaining lions into exile.
Themba
Ruling tribes: cats, hawks
A kingdom of deserts and amazing monuments and necropolises...(More info coming soon.)
Other places:
Uncharted lands
As the name suggest, these are lands largely uncharted and unexplored. Long it was believed that nothing lives in these lands, but recently it has been found out it inhabiting many feral creatures and tribes of humanoids known as orcs. Contacts with these orcs have been few, mainly just the times when orcs' raidings parties and pirates have attacked trade ships and harbour towns.
Storm Island
No man's land, Storm Island is the location of the mysterious, unmoving and ever-raging cyclone. No one knows for certain this cyclone's origins, why it exists, and why it stays in place, never dying down. It's also incredibly strong, as it's strongest point in exceeds even the legendary F6 tornadoes Doreador has faced few times in history. Some believe the cyclone is a magical barrier to a temple of secret mages and sorcerers. This theory comes from the fact that some magic wielders do head out to the island and occasionally come back. Others believe the tornado is a magic nexus of some sort. There are also rumors of it being a mighty storm titan and there exists an artifact that was made years ago that allows one to gain total control over this titan of a tornado, though they can only control it when on that island, as it never leaves the place.
